Sunnylea - Noreseman Heights

Norseman Heights is a tranquil family-friendly neighbourhood a short walk from Bloor Village and the TTC’s east/west subway line. The area offers amenities, parks, recreation and hidden gems for all ages. Those working downtown enjoy a short commute by car or public transit, and there is easy access to the Toronto International Airport. Even cyclists love this mid-south Etobicoke area because they can quickly reach the Humber Valley bicycle path that connects to the waterfront path at Lake Ontario. There are various community services offering sports, dance, music, fitness, pre-school programs, swimming and adult aqua fitness. Clearly a dog and kid friendly neighbourhood, there are three major parks. Fairfield Park has wide open space that is great for playing sports and a water park for the little ones. Laura Hill Park is centrally located and has two playgrounds, swing sets and its own tennis club and courts. Norseman Heights Park, located just south of the Junior Middle School, has baseball diamonds and a large soccer field.

Excellent School Catchment

The area also offers several well-regarded public schools, the highly regarded Etobicoke School of the Arts and Etobicoke Collegiate Institute are both located nearby. In addition to the trendy shops of the Kingsway, area residents have access to a variety of retail and warehouse outlets to fit every taste. A favourite is nearby Dimpflmeier Bakery where some of the best German ryes and organic bread in the city is baked right on site. A coffee shop offers a place to sit and enjoy pastries and strudel while stocking up the freezer. Other local finds include European-style sausages and meats and outlet for The Butcher Shoppe. One of the most popular local hangouts is Artisano Bakery & Café, a favourite for all ages. Just a short distance further south to The Queensway, there is a large Odeon Cineplex and several family restaurants and pubs.

Rosedale Golf Club

One of the oldest golfing institutions in the greater Toronto area, Rosedale Golf Club was established in the Don Valley back in 1893 as Deer Park Golf Club with the original golf course laid out on the site of Rosedale Field, as it’s called nowadays.

From the elevated tee shot down into the valley on the 1st hole through to the wonderful 17th green, the course is an absolute joy. The uphill par three 13th is one of the toughest short holes to be found anywhere in the country
